Doris Jean Walker

Doris Jean Walker, 93, a lifetime resident of Flatonia, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2024, She was born on Feb. 10, 1931.

Doris was the office assistant for the City of Flatonia from 1966 to 1970. In 1970, she became City Secretary and held that position until she retired in 2000. She was the secretary for the Oak Hill Cemetery Endowment from 1968 to 2018. Doris was presented the key to the City by Mayor Bryan Milson in 2018.

She was preceded in death by her son, Jimmy Walker, and granddaughter Stacie Walker.

Doris is survived by several nieces and nephews, and her daughter-in-law, Deborah Walker, and lots of people who loved her and called her a friend.  She will be surely missed.

Graveside service will take place on Friday, Nov. 8 at 11 a.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery.
