Eddie Eugene Scates, 91, passed away April 27, 2024.  He was born October 8,1932 to Alton J. and

Thelma G. Scates.   Preceded in death by his parents, brother Joe F. Scates and wife of 60 years Mary L

Survived by two Stepsons Robert Moentnish and wife Minnie of LaGrange, Texas and David of Cedar Hill

Texas, Sister-in-law Barbara Scates of Shreveport, LA, cousins Lenny Meadows of Erwinville, LA,  Ellen

Lieux of Baton Rouge, LA and children Pamela, Winston, Ronald and Michael Scates.

Eddie served in the USAF during the Korean War and he retired from General Motors as a Service Manager.

Since the late 1960’s Eddie and Mary traveled extensively in their 5^th Wheel Holiday Rambler, were

agents for Carefree of Colorado awnings during their travels, collecting fascinating stories and many

interesting friends along the way.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Eddie’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association at alz.com
