Eloy Castro Gutierrez

In Loving Memory of Eloy Gutierrez Sr., a dedicated father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and husband, who passed away on April 9th, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. Eloy Gutierrez was born on May 20, 1936, in Waelder, TX, and was the beloved son of Pedro and Aurelia Gutierrez.

Eloy was a loving father & father in-law to Lupe Scott & her spouse Alfredie Scott Jr.,  Eloy Gutierrez Jr. & his spouse Dawn Terry, Pete Gutierrez, Theresa Gutierrez, John Gutierrez and his spouse Benni Delgado.

Eloy was a man of many passions. He found solace and joy in the great outdoors, spending countless hours fishing and coon hunting. A hardworking rancher by trade, Eloy dedicated himself to caring for the land and providing for his family through his tireless efforts.

In addition to his children and his sister Josephine Luna, Eloy leaves behind a legacy of strength and love.   His fond memories will remain in the hearts of his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sister, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.

Eloy is preceded in death by his father Pedro Gutierrez, his mother Aurelia Gutierrez, his brothers Florentino, Aurelio, Elias, Jose, and Rafael Gutierrez, and his sisters Virginia Henry, Juana Villalobos, Victoria Estrada, and Damiana Tovar,

 His legacy of hard work and determination, and love for family will continue to inspire all who knew him. May Eloy Gutierrez Sr. rest in peace, forever remembered, and deeply missed.

A visitation for Eloy will begin at 4:00 PM on Thursday, April 18, 2024 at Smith Funeral Home in Flatonia, TX.  followed by a rosary recited at 7:00 PM.  On Friday, April 19, 2024, at 10:00 AM the funeral mass will be held at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Waelder, TX, officiated by Father Jason Martini.   Interment will be in the Waelder Community Cemetery.
