Johnny Joe Lozano, 74, passed away on Sunday, August 13, 2023, at St. David’s Medical center in Austin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Julio and Amalia Lozano.
Survivors include his wife Olivia Lozano of Austin; son Andre Lozano and wife, Jillian of Elgin; his daughter Nina Lozano of Austin; grandchildren: Luke, Bella, Jaxton, and Sophia; and 12 brothers and sisters.
John was born in Flatonia on October 3, 1948, to Julio and Amelia Lozano. He served in the Vietnam War and received a Purple Heart, Bronze Medal and six other service medals.
John just celebrated his 50th wedding anniversary this past June. He resided in Houston and surrounding areas until moving to Austin in 2001. John was a Jack of all Trades. He worked in construction, maintenance, and landscaping. He enjoyed working on his 1971 corvette and wood carving.
John was most of all an entertainer. He enjoyed playing his guitar and performing for his family and people all around. He loved spreading joy and happiness in his music. He always thought of others and spoke of the Lord.
A visitation for John will begin at 9:00 AM on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Flatonia, Tx, followed by a funeral mass at 10:00 AM, officiated by Father Eddie Winkler. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Flatonia, Tx.
