On Tuesday, December 24, 2024, Lillie Koudelka Branecky was called home by our Savior, where she was welcomed by her husband of over sixty years, Frank.
Lillie was born on August 26, 1933 in a small house in Bauersville to Anton and Mary Koncaba Koudleka. Lillie grew up only knowing Czech, but was forced to speak English when she attended school in Moulton. Lillie met the love of her life at a dance in the Bauersville area. Lillie married Frank Branecky at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Moulton on October 16, 1951. Frank and Lillie began their early years of marriage in Point Comfort so that Frank could work at Aloca, and Lillie ran the household. She baked for people, cleaned linens, and made various items to sell to help with household expenses. After a few years, Frank and Lillie moved back to the land they loved, Flatonia, to start their farming and ranching business. Frank and Lillie worked the land and animals that they loved together, building fences, baling hay, and raising cattle. Frank and Lillie owned Branecky Custom Service and were very charitable to many organizations in and around Flatonia. Lillie will be remembered by so many for her hard work, dedication to her family, church, and friends. She worked hard, side by side with her husband, and for many, it was hard to imagine a life where the two of them were not together. She raked hay, built fences, cut wood, and loved her cattle.
Lillie was a member of Flatonia Sacred Heart Church (where Frank and Lillie either bought or sold a calf for more than 55 consecutive years), Flatonia Altar Society, member of KJZT, Young Farmers, and a proud supporter of FFA and 4-H livestock show members, at both the Moulton and Flatonia shows.
Lillie leaves behind her four children: Gladys Seifert, of Moulton; Larry Branecky of Flatonia; Edward Branecky (Laurie) of Flatonia; Anthony Branecky (Gale), of Bastrop, and daughter-in-law, Martha Branecky of Flatonia. Lillie also leaves behind 12 grandchildren: Douglas Branecky (Robin) of Flatonia; Patricia Branecky; Curtis Branecky (Kati) of Flatonia; Steven Seifert (Lynette), Dale Seifert, Sarah Quinn (Chris), Derek Branecky, Chance Branecky, Clay Branecky (Becca), Jessica Branecky, Brian Branecky, and Amanda Branecky. Lillie also leaves behind four great-grandchildren, Kaylee Branecky, Parker Quinn, Maverick Branecky, and Wrennley Branecky, with another great-grandson due in April. She leaves behind two sisters, Georgie Zapalac of Austin, and Sidonia Harrison of Shiner. Lillie also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors that are a part of the family.
Lillie is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Daniel Branecky, granddaughter Melissa Seifert, son-in-law Larry Seifert, and siblings Larry Koudelka, Hattie Kresta, Joe Koudleka, George Koudelka, and Annie Jungbauer.
Pallbearers are her grandsons: Douglas Branecky, Steven Seifert, Curtis Branecky, Dale Seifert, Chance Branecky, Derek Branecky, Clay Branecky, and Brian Branecky.
