Myrtle Ann Maeker, 92, of Flatonia, Texas, passed away on June 21, 2026.
Born on July 17, 1933, in Gonzales, Texas, she was the daughter of Myrtle Fay Lepori and Leo Lepori. Myrtle grew up in Gonzales and attended school there through the nineth grade.
On January 17, 1953, she married Leslie Louis Maeker. Together they built a life centered on family and raised their children with love and dedication.
Myrtle worked for several years at Smith Farms and later at Brunner's Dairy Mart. Outside of her work, she was deeply devoted to her family. She cherished her children and grandchildren, loved preparing holiday meals, and found great joy in baking cookies. Her favorite hobby was needlepoint, and she was especially known for lovingly creating baby quilts for her great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter, Debra Filla and her husband, Robert Filla; sons Leslie "Bubba" Maeker and Randy Maeker and his partner, Wanda Thibodaux; her step-son, Walter Maeker and his wife, Shirley, of Houston, Texas; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie Louis Maeker; her daughter, Janet Filla and her husband, Curtis "Dirk" Filla; her parents, Myrtle Fay Lepori and Leo Lepori; her brother, Leo Joe Lepori II; her sisters, Dorothy Lepori and Lucile Nance; her step-daughter, Myrna Ann Peters; and her step-sons; Errol Maeker and David Leroy Maeker.
Pallbearers will be: Joe Filla, Jonathan Filla, Christopher Filla, Brody Filla, Cody Davis and Fletcher White.
On Thursday, June 25, 2026 the Rosary prayers will be recited starting at 9:30AM followed by a Mass at 10:00AM all at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Flatonia, Texas. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Flatonia.
