Nickolas Esparza Tovar

September 10, 1938 — September 1, 2024

Waelder

Nickolas Esparza Tovar, affectionately known as Nico Tovar, was born on September 10, 1938, in Waelder, Texas. After a life marked by quiet strength and unwavering generosity, he departed this world peacefully on September 1, 2024, at Ascension Seton Medical Center in Austin, surrounded by his dear loved ones.

Nico dedicated many years to the manufacturing industry, spending his days as a skilled machinist with Moulton Products. His incredible attention to detail and work ethic earned him the respect of his colleagues and a place in the hearts of those who knew him. He approached his work with a dedication that mirrored his approach to all aspects of life—carefully, thoughtfully, and always with a touch of love.

A man of remarkable character, Nico was known for his reserved demeanor, yet he exuded warmth and compassion. He was deeply religious, drawing strength from his faith, which guided his interactions with family and friends. Those who had the honor of knowing him were touched by his genuine kindness. He cherished his family immensely, holding them dear in his heart, and looked forward to every gathering filled with laughter and love. Among his many joys were music and singing, passions that filled his spirit and resonated deeply with those around him. He found delight in football (or soccer, as it is known in some circles) and treasured the simple pleasures of good food shared in the company of loved ones.

Nico had an indelible sense of style, often seen sporting his favorite fedora hats, which complemented his thoughtful and artistic nature. His memory will be forever cherished by those who admired not just his style but the essence of who he was—caring, generous, and deeply affectionate.

He is survived by his beloved sister Ofelia Cedillo, brother Ben Tovar, and sister Clara Rosas. Nico now joins his dear family members who predeceased him—his mother, Tomasa Tovar; father, Pablo Tovar; sisters Mary Barrera, Fabiana Herrera, and Juana Soza; and brothers Victorio, Evaristo, Jacquin, Fabian, Pablo Jr., Isabel, Guadalupe, Jose, and Jacinto Tovar. Each of them will welcome him with open arms as they reunite in the eternal embrace of love.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Nico's life with visitation on September 7, 2024, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Waelder, from 8:30 AM to 9:30AM followed by a Rosary and a heartfelt Mass that will begin at 10:00 AM followed by burial at the Waelder community cemetery. A celebration of life reception will be held after at the Waelder community center.

As we say goodbye to Nico Tovar, let us not dwell solely on his passing, but rather, let us celebrate the beauty of his life, the kindness he shared, and the impact he made in our hearts. He will remain a cherished memory for all who walked alongside him in this journey.
