Pedro Manuel Villegas

Pedro Villegas, beloved husband and father, passed away on June 19, 2024, in Waelder, TX. He was born in El Salvador on April 29, 1957, in a small rural town. In 1986 he immigrated to the United States. Eventually settling down in Flatonia, Texas. 

Pedro worked for years at Flatonia ISD, a job he enjoyed for the way it allowed him to interact with people and the community. Friday night football games were a must! Not only because he drove the bus for the band to away games but because he loved supporting his children who were all in band. 

He had a great sense of humor. Always smiling and always quick with a witty comment or joke that brought smiles to any one of his friends or family. He loved to talk to everyone wherever he went and always wound-up making friends with total strangers. 

He loved helping wherever he could. Always ready to lend a helping hand in many church events and ACTS retreats. His faith guided him through life and gave him strength.

His absence will be felt. Thankfully, we all hold so many wonderful memories of him that he will not be forgotten. His jokes will forever hold all who knew him in constant laughter and his advice and wise words will continue to guide us. May he rest in peace knowing that he will forever be loved and missed.

Pedro is survived by Rosalba Villegas - spouse, of Waelder, Manuel F. Villegas - son, Doriana G. Villegas - daughter, Yesenia C. Aguayo - daughter and Christopher P. Villegas - son.

Pedro is preceded in death by Manuel Guillermo Villegas - father, Leonor Villegas Alfaro - mother, Carmen Luz Ramirez Alfaro - Sister, and Jose Domingo Ramirez Alfaro – Brother

Memorial donations can be made in Pedro's name to the ALS Association and the Texas Ramp Project. 

A visitation for Pedro will be held on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at Smith Funeral Home in Flatonia, TX with a rosary recited at 7:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Waelder, TX on Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at 2:00 PM, officiated by Father Jason Martini. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Flatonia, TX.
