Ronald Eugene Steinhauser (Ronnie), beloved husband, father, grandfather, and successful business owner, passed away on May 16, 2024, in Terlingua, Texas. He was born on July 25, 1950, in Shiner, Texas to his loving parents HH and Annie Steinhauser. Ronnie leaves behind a legacy of hard work, dedication, and love that will always be cherished by those who knew him.
Throughout his life Ronnie accomplished many things that he was proud of. His family was his greatest accomplishment - a testament to the love and care he always provided. Alongside this, Ronnie dedicated himself to his businesses for many years. Over the course of 28 years at Muldoon Minerals, 15 years at Ecology Minerals, and an impressive 42 years at Steinhauser-Clay, he poured his heart and soul into his work. Those that worked and continue to work for him will remember him most for the fact that they were more than employees, they were his second family.
Despite his busy schedule with work and business ventures, Ronnie always found time for the things he loved. He was a passionate fan of Astros baseball and Cowboys football. He also enjoyed keeping up with local high school sports events. His favorite events were any that his grandchildren were participating in. However, beyond all else, his favorite pastime was being on his tractor - whether clearing brush or maintaining clay pits - it was where he felt most at peace.
Those who knew Ronnie can attest to his warm personality. He never met a stranger and had a calming presence that could put anyone at ease. His kindness and compassion touched the lives of many throughout the years.
Ronnie is survived by his loving wife Virginia Steinhauser; daughter Nikki Ponewash her partner Jory Dupont; son Kevin Steinhauser his wife Erica; grandchildren Matthew, Jordyn and Sarah Ponewash, Ethan and Morgan Steinhauser and brother Lloyd Steinhauser and wife Virginia Steinhauser, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins friends and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his Parents, sisters Joyce Gold and Carol Null, son-in-law Tim Ponewash, as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
In saying goodbye to Ronnie, we remember a man who lived life to the fullest, treasured his family above all else, and left an indelible mark on all those who had the privilege of knowing him. Rest in peace.
