Rosie Hernandez

Rosie Hernandez, 80, of Flatonia, Tx peacefully passed away on Saturday, February 10, 2024 in Austin, Tx surrounded by family.  She was born on April 28, 1943 in Schulenburg, Tx and resided her whole life in Flatonia, Tx until her passing.  She is preceded in death by her late husband, Israel Hernandez from Flatonia, Tx, her late parents, Aurelio Hernandez and Simona Alvarado also from Flatonia, Tx, her brother Guadalupe 'Chappo' Alvarado from Flatonia, Tx along with other Aunts, Uncles and other family members.

She is survived by her sons, Eddie Hernandez and partner Lynette, of Flatonia, Tx, Hector Hernandez and wife Sandy, of Flatonia, Tx and Eugene Trejo and wife Tina, of Moulton, Tx, her daughters, Barbara Ortiz and husband Sergio of Flatonia, Tx and Estella Guzman and husband Ramon of Flatonia, Tx.  

Also survived by her grandchildren, Roxanne Orona and husband Jorge, of LaGrange, Tx, Marissa Toro and husband Rodrigo from Flatonia, Tx, David Hernandez and wife Stephanie from San Antonio, Tx, Sandra Hernandez from Flatonia, Tx, James Lucas Hernandez and wife Megan, from Flatonia, Tx, Bethany Lugo and husband Taylor from Tyler, Tx, Elia Guzman and husband David from Carrollton, Tx, Isaiah Hernandez from San Antonio, Tx, Jordan Pesl and wife Christina from Victoria, Tx, Gustavo Guzman and partner Chelsie from Flatonia, Tx, Kyle Trejo from San Antonio, Tx, Kobey Trejo from Moulton, Tx and Kaylee Trejo also from Moulton, Tx.   Rosie also has 15 great-grandchildren along with two more expecting, and many other family members.

Pallbearers are:   Jorge Orona, David Hernandez, James Lucas Hernandez, Isaiah Hernandez, Jordan Pesl, Gustavo Guzman, Kyle Trejo and Kobey Trejo

Honorary Pallbearers are:   Amador Alvarado, Jerry Alvarado, Chris Alvarado, Thomas Almaraz and Brandon Cruz.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 16, 2024 from 4:00pm - 7:00pm and Rosary following, from 7:00pm - 8:00pm, at Smith Funeral Home, 128 E 5th St., Flatonia, Tx 78941.  Funeral service will be held at 10:00am, Saturday, February 17, 2024 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 516 S Faires St., Flatonia, Tx 78941 with burial to follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Flatonia, Tx.
