Steve Castro Jr, from Waelder, Texas, born on July 10, 1953, left this world on March 19, 2024. Steve will be remembered for his vibrant personality, his love for the tunes of Carlos Santana, Micheal Jackson, and Tejano music, his sense of humor that could light up any room, and his unwavering kindness. He was the life of every party, bringing joy, laughter, and dancing wherever he went.

 

In addition to his magnetic presence, Steve was a master carpenter and builder, known for his skill and craftsmanship. He was dedicated to his craft in his younger years, creating beautiful pieces that will stand as a testament to his talent for years to come.

 

Steve's passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him, a testament to the impact he had on those around him. His vibrant personality and genuine kindness will not be forgotten.  Steve's ability to uplift others with his humor and compassion was truly remarkable, and his memory will continue to be a source of comfort and inspiration to all who were touched by his presence. While his physical presence may be gone, the imprint he left on the hearts of his loved ones will remain eternally cherished, a reminder of the joy and goodness he brought into the world.

 

Steve was preceded in death by his father, Estefan Castro Sr, his mother, Rosie Santacruz, his stepmother, Tomasita Castro, and his brother Abel Castro. He is survived by his loving wife, Oralee Rodriguez, his children Florentino Castro (and wife Amy), Steven Castro, Carlos Castro (and wife Magaly), Brittney Cedillo, and Pete Cedillo II. He was a cherished grandfather to Delilah Rodriguez, Savannah Castro, Brandon Jackson, Isabella Castro, and Adelina Jackson. Steve is also survived by his sisters Sylvia Casanova, Rosalinda Quintero, and Julia Ramirez, and his brothers Sam Castro Sr, Herman Castro, Edward Castro, and Jerry Castro.

 

Services to honor and celebrate Steve's life will be held at Smith Funeral Home-Flatonia, 128 E 5th St, Flatonia, TX 78941. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 29, 2024, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm with a rosary at 7:00 pm. The funeral will be on Saturday, March 30, 2024, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. Steve will be laid to rest at Waelder Community Cemetery, 206 S 1st St, Waelder, TX 78959, following the funeral service.
