Ted Bratton

Teddy Dale Bratton (Ted) was delivered into the arms of the Lord on Monday, June 16th, 2025 following a brief illness. Ted was born on December 4th, 1938 in Brady, Texas to Melvin and Ruby Nell Bratton. Growing up on a ranch, he loved handling cattle and enjoyed farm work, including tractors, which he had a deep appreciation for. He was in grade school when he got his first tractor as a gift for Christmas, and he never lost his enthusiasm for them. People from all over, mostly Brent, would call him to troubleshoot their tractors. He also loved taking his sons to rodeos, traveling all over Texas to watch them compete. He worked at Dow Chemical for 29 years, retiring in 1996. He was a former Grand Knight of the Knights of Colombus council 3295 and later, was a Faithful Navigator of the Fourth Degree Assembly. He was also a very active member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He deeply loved God, his family, and his country.

Ted is remembered by many, including his loving wife, of sixty-one years, Ann. His brother Jerry Bratton and wife Linda; his sister Brenda Rue and husband Archie; his brother-in-law Daniel Vyvjala and wife Sharon; his two sons Brent and wife Dawn, and Brandon and wife Gina; his two granddaughters Brandi Little and husband Landon, and Jenna Jones and husband Kyle; his three grandsons Tye, Brady, and Milo; his great grandsons Levi and Drue. He is also remembered by many cherished cousins, nieces, and nephews.

The Rosary will be held Thursday, June 19th, 2025 at 7 pm at Smith Funeral Home in Flatonia, Texas and will be preceded by a visitation from 5 pm to 7 pm. Funeral Mass will be held Friday, June 20th, 2025 at 10 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. His entombment will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in the Mausoleum.
