Tomasa Moreno

September 21, 1951 — September 19, 2022

Tomasa Moreno was called to heaven on September 19, 2022.  She is survived by her loving husband of 48+ years Ricardo, her children Irma (Albert), Theresa (Rob), Linda (Nathan), Christina, and Ricardo Jr., her sisters Eva, Sandy, and Adela, her brothers Victor Jr., Ray, Arthur, Raymond, Robert, Roy, and Rudolph, Grandchildren Israel, Angela, Joshua (Haleigh), Alexandra, Mia, Sara, Anthony, Victoria, Valerie and one great grandchild Samaia. She is preceded by her parents Victorio and Juana Tovar, her sisters Rosemary and Marcella, her brothers Raul and Domingo, and her grandson Rodolfo.

Tomasa was the matriarch of the family and lived a full 70 years of life. She was the glue that kept her large family together. Tomasa was an amazing wife, the greatest mom, loving grandmother, caring mother-in-law, and a good friend to all. She was a loved daughter and wonderful sister.

Tomasa worked outside of the house early in life but eventually after her 5th child she took on the hardest job of all and became a stay-at-home mom. She raised her 5 children and then she and her husband took in 5 more when she lost her sister Rosemary. Tomasa said she was blessed and grateful to do that. She also volunteered at the elementary school near her home to teach English language to Spanish speaking students.  Furthermore, she played a role in all her 8 grandchildren’s lives. She even cared for 2 feral cats, which she affectionately called Binx and Molly, that ended up in the backyard. She was simply a loving, caring, and amazing person. Tomasa was always there to listen, to talk and help in her own way. She always reminded you to seek God in your life. “God is in control” she would say. She would praise God when things were good and seek God when things were difficult. Tomasa was a faithful, God-loving, fearfully, and wonderfully made daughter of Christ. She loved her whole family and always sent prayers. If you were with her, she would give you a blessing before you walked out the door and headed into the outside world.

Tomasa loved crocheting, watching novellas with her husband, and did some traveling. She loved visits with her sisters and drop-ins by her brothers. She liked outings to the casinos. Most of all she loved and cherished the times when all her children and grandchildren could gather around her. Tomasa’s home was where everybody wanted to be. She was a kindhearted and loving person with a beautiful soul. She, with her love and blessings will be missed by us all.
