Joe John Pavlica, age 96, passed away on December 11, 2022. He was
born on September 16, 1926 in Flatonia, TX to Joe and Stella (Starry) Pavlica.
Joe attended Flatonia High School and graduated in January, 1945. He
then enlisted in the Army and served from January, 1945 until August, 1946.
Joe married Annie Ferguson of Kirbyville, TX on March 20, 1955. Together they
lived in Houston, TX and raised 4 children until Joe’s retirement from a full time
career as a Technician with Western Electric and Southwestern Bell Telephone
Joe and Ann enjoyed their retirement years in Canyon Lake,TX and
New Braunfels, TX. After Ann’s passing in 2015, Joe spent several years in
Schulenburg, TX at College Place Independent and Assisted Living.
Joe enjoyed working and spending time at his property in Flatonia,
BBQing, and following sports, especially the Houston Astros and Texans. He
was in attendance at the very first Astros game played at the newly built
Astrodome in 1965.
Joe is survived by his four children, Davy (& Pam) Pavlica, Cindy (& Jerry
Buckles) Pavlica, Ken (& Renee) Pavlica, and Kevin Pavlica, six grandchildren,
and seven great grandchildren.
A family attended service will be held in Flatonia, TX. at a future date.
